Refined Sitemap & Wireframes

Refined Sitemap

Did a further refinement of our sitemap. We discussed about hierarchy and decided that the more important tabs should go first (left to right).

Our 'about us' section remains in the same position but we decided that it could possibly lead to the map. There will be a interactive map in the 'about' section where the viewer can scroll over or click certain locations that is pinpointed. Hovering over the point will show the artist and the location of the particular lightwork. When you click a certain point, it will take you to the lightworks section where the audience can learn more about the specific lightwork/artist.

I switched map with gallery as it is more prominent to our 4 personas. We found that most of our personas would want to know where the light festival is located, and see how many lightworks there are pinpointed on the map. It is also a good way-finding tool for those who are not familiar with the area such as tourists. We decided to include a pdf print section, as well as a schedule so the audience won't miss out on anything. We discussed about having the colours reversed for the printable map so the audience won't be using up their black ink. The map will also lead to the lightwork.

We also decided to exchange the name 'gallery' to 'lightworks' as it will be containing previous works and also artists profiles. We felt that 'gallery' did not suit the content inside.

Social tab will now include a live feed where the audience can upload their photos/videos of the Lux festival. This will allow people to share their experience through social media and can tag their friends and family. This will be a useful tool for self publicity. We also included a live comment section where the audience can leave feedback even if they don't have social media.

We discussed about having the guidelines and application on the same page as they each have little content. It seems to be useful to have them on the same page so the viewer can refer back to the guidelines without having to click back or go on a different page. We decided to change 'be involved' to 'get involved' as it previously sounded like a command.

Homepage Wireframe

Home page is still a working process, and may change after we start putting the content on the page. Still concerned about the placement of the count down widget. Do you guys think it's better to be above the intro or below? Open to suggestions.

Beginning to put content and visual onto the wireframe. I found myself changing a lot of things when I got to see it visually. I found in particular, that the text layout wasn't working as well as it did on the wireframe, so I think we need to play around with the text and perhaps construct a grid system to help plan out how we want to lay out our text. So far it's still looking a little plain on the 2nd half. Not really fitting into our 3 words at the moment (Captivating, Energy and Memorable).
